Joe Escobar, Founding Partner at Paley Advisors, brings over twenty years of experience in general management, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions to Paley Advisors.
Based in Los Angeles, Joe is responsible for sourcing global deals, raising capital, developing strategy for corporate clients and managing relationships with private equity groups, family offices, strategic acquirers, fundless sponsors, angel investors and other players in the investment community. He also has extensive contacts with C-level executives, board members, company founders and company owners.
Joe’s background includes capital raising, senior investment and corporate strategy experience in the investment banking, commercial banking, energy commodities, and services sectors, including both incubators and technology startups, both domestically and internationally.
Prior to Paley Advisors, Joe served as Senior Advisor to both WestBridge Investments and Carrick Bend Capital, with a specific focus on venture capital and private equity deals. Previous to WestBridge/Carrick Bend, Joe served as Managing Director at Laguna Ventures, a nanotechnology material sciences incubator, where he was responsible for raising capital, structuring deals and acting as interim CFO for all portfolio companies.
Joe is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Education
Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
